The Voice Bible has a set of 40 readings that they refer to as 40 Days With Jesus. Some of the readings may surprise you because every day’s reading is not necessarily a reading with Jesus speaking. Actually, less than half of them are!

I started with only the verse references and added the Scripture text each day as I went through the 40 Days. You can do the same thing (just one each day) but I have the full verses listed for you already :)
