Jesus said that all Scriptures could be summed up in just two commands, which can clearly be stated in just four words:
- Love God
- Love Others
When deciding who to vote for, just look at the two main candidates and decide which one of them lives in a way that matches up with these two greatest commands that Jesus gave us (Matthew 22:36-40). Also remember that Scriptures also tell us that it does not matter what someone [a candidate] accomplishes … if they do it…
- Without love they are just a NOISY GONG
- Without love they are NOTHING
- Without love they gain NOTHING
If that (ref: 1Corinthians 13:1-3) is to simple, let’s expand it. If love is the key, just what is love? Scriptures make it perfectly clear just what love is (ref: 1Corinthians 13:4-7). So you can make a checklist for the candidates on the ballot by using the definition pulled directly from Scriptures and then color in the heart for each line for the candidate who most displays that requirement. The checklist below is mine, yours may have different hearts colored in.
Now, just vote for the candidate with the most colored in hearts.
Remember that Jesus focused on many issues, not just one. So make sure you do the same. No one issue is ultimately important over all others. (ref: Jesus and Abortion).
